COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ANODES, NICKEL, CARBONIZED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
Abstract. This description covers carbonized nickel anodes used in electroplating baths.
Classification. The anodes shall be of the following styles and sizes. The style and size shall be as specified.
Style A Round bar
Size 1 1/4 inch diameter rolled only, length as specified.
Size 2 1 inch diameter rolled or cast, length as specified.
Style B Oval bar, rolled or cast.
Size 1 3 inches long diameter, 1-3/4 inches short diameter by 24 inches in length.
Size 2 3-1/4 inches long diameter, 1-5/8 inches short diameter by 16 inches in length.
Size 3 3 inches long diameter, 1-1/2 inches short diameter by 30 inches in length.
Size 4 3-1/2 inches long diameter, 1-1/2 inches short diameter by 30 inches in length.
Salient characteristics. The anodes shall meet the following minimum requirements.
1. Chemical composition. The chemical composition of the anodes shall meet the requirements of table I.
